Extension
More than half of the world's population lives at risk from the diseases caused by mosquito-transmitted pathogens, and this means there are many, diverse groups of stakeholders with an investment in combating these diseases.
As part of our dedicated extension focus, we are invested in communicating our scientific findings with these stakeholders, particularly those affected by mosquito-transmitted disease, and those who are responsible for controlling mosquito populations and reducing the risk of disease transmission. We are also highly motivated to communicate knowledge of recent discoveries in mosquito science and emerging mosquito control techniques to stakeholders.
The lab has been focused on extension activities relating to the Oxitec population suppression releases in the Florida Keys and has produced several resources on the topic:
